There’s just something about Flagstaff in the fall that has my heart. The crisp mountain air, the beautiful golden aspen trees, and the kind of scenery that makes you stop for a second and appreciate just how beautiful Arizona really is.

And when you add a growing little family into the mix? Well, it doesn’t get much better than that.

For this fall maternity photography session in Flagstaff, Arizona, I had the opportunity to capture a beautiful mama to be and her partner as they prepared for one of the biggest adventures of their lives, becoming parents!

And let me tell you, Mother Nature understood the assignment!

One of my favorite things about being an Arizona photographer is getting to explore all the different landscapes our state has to offer.

Most people think of Arizona and immediately picture cactus, dirt, and triple digit temperatures. And don’t get me wrong, I love our desert sunsets!

But Flagstaff in the fall? That’s a whole different kind of magic.

Surrounded by golden aspen trees, we spent our session capturing this exciting chapter in their lives.

There’s something so special about watching two people prepare to welcome a little one into the world.

The smiles, the laughter, the way they look at each other, and those quiet little moments in between.

Those are the moments I love capturing most.

Because It’s More Than Just a Baby Bump 🤎

Maternity photography is about so much more than documenting a growing belly.

It’s about capturing the anticipation, the excitement, and the love that already exists for someone they haven’t even met yet.

One day, these photos will be something they can look back on and remember exactly what this chapter of their lives felt like.

And maybe someday, their little one will look at these pictures and see just how loved they were before they even entered the world.

That’s what makes photography so special to me.

And Flagstaff will always be one of my favorite places to photograph.

Especially during the fall!

The golden aspens create such a beautiful backdrop for maternity photos, couples sessions, engagements, and even family portraits.

And the best part?

You don’t need a fancy location or an elaborate setup to create beautiful photographs.

Sometimes all you need is a beautiful place, a little bit of love, and someone there to capture it.

One thing I hear all the time is:

“We’re awkward in front of the camera!”

And trust me, you’re not alone!

But here’s the thing. You don’t have to be a professional model to have beautiful photos.

My approach to photography is pretty simple.

Laugh together. Hold hands. Sneak in a kiss. Enjoy the moment.
